Columbia Care operates in 18 U.S. jurisdictions with 92 dispensaries nationwide as well as an indoor 50,000 sq ft grow facility located in Vineland.

UFCW Local 360, the union representing employees in the cannabis industry, recently announced that workers at Columbia Care’s Cannabist Deptford marijuana dispensary voted in favor of their first labor contract – giving them wage increases both forward and backdated, health care access, and paid federal holidays.

According to UFCW, workers at this location represent a key turning point in the cannabis industry. As America’s most well-recognized union representing over 1.3 million hardworking families across America; its members work in retail stores, grocery stores, pharmacies, healthcare settings, manufacturing plants and food processing plants among many others.

Legal marijuana businesses have recently experienced tax changes and complicated regulations, which in turn impact consumers of their products. Furthermore, given that marijuana remains Schedule 1 drug under federal law and dispensaries cannot deduct general business expenses like they can in other industries.Despite these challenges, the cannabis industry continues to flourish. More people are turning towards cannabis as an all-natural and safe alternative to other drugs.
